Redheart’s Roundup: The blood drive which kicked off in September. We realize that not everyone can donate blood in such as small time frame so we decided to make this project a running one. You can donate blood at your local blood bank or red cross station. Many of these places create their own blood drives so there are plenty of opportunities! If you go out and donate blood you can have it registered on this handy Google spreadsheet.
If you donate blood you are on your way to earning a BfG button, if you go out to donate 2 times you have earned one! You can also combine it with other charitable work like community and service or donations to charity…which bring us to another major running project.
The Community and Service project: We would really like to see bronies out in the open helping the world…or their communities or somewhere far away. As long as you are involved in some way in order to improve the lives of someone else, or to help the environment, we approve. And to show this we have created the reward system for anyone willing to help the world. For anyone who shows us their commitment we will send them a unique Bronies for Good button! The rules are simple:
2 deeds of good earn you a button, these can be:
- 3 hours of any community service (soup kitchen, help at an animal shelter, etc.)
- Getting involved in social justice activities
- Donating a minimum amount of $20 to a charity
- Participating in any BfG activities
If you do 2 of these activities (This could be a combination or a repetition of one) you can send us an email to BroniesForGood@gmail.comwith your contact info and a proof of your actions and we’ll send you one of the buttons.
A friendly reminder, whole blood donations can be made (approx.) every 60 days.
This makes me a sad that I cannot donate blood.

I cannot donate blood either.
I thought it would be useful to be as accurate as possible and I’m a male that was dating another male at the time so now I’m on a sort of blacklist for donations now, even with frequent STD checks.
I can’t donate blood until next summer because of a service trip to Ghana in July — such misfortune. :/ I definitely will then, though.
