Charity Auction at Galacon

What’s Canni doing at that lectern? She’s auctioning wonderful artwork, plushies, customs, collector’s items, and much more—all for charity!

However, this photo is from the future, from August 12th this year. For her charity auction to become a grand success, we—Galacon and Bronies for Good—depend on your artistic skill and generosity!

If you have it in your heart to donate anything that you think might get some bids (and thus bits), please contact [email protected]. Thank you!

The money raised (apart from a minor security margin of 1%) will benefit our Seeds of Kindness fundraiser and thus an orphanage in Kampala, Uganda. The orphanage is already taking good care of many children whose parents have died of HIV/AIDS, offering them a new home and a new family. Currently, they have to pay a high rent, though, so they have everything planned out to build their own house, where they would not only save the rent but could even expand to accommodate at least fifty children. To ensure that this new safe haven, the Safe Project, will be self-sufficient in the long term, they want to start a small chicken farming business, the returns of which will be invested into food for the children, their general well-being, and of course their education, to ultimately open the doors for them to a new, brighter future.

If you, dear reader, should happen to be one of the esteemed creators of our beloved show, then this shout-out is also and especially going out to you! Thank you again!

A Few Reminders

  • The end of this month, midnight (UTC) of June 30th, marks the deadline after which we will determine the top donors for Seeds of Kindness, and thus the lucky winners of these prizes.
  • My Little Remix is already working on the next charity album, Faithful and Strong. If you are a musician and would like to contribute a track to the new album, please see this thread.
  • For Faithful and Strong, we are also looking for material and digital gifts for our donors, so digital art and wallpaper packs are just as welcome as customs, paintings, scarfs, and plushies. You can reach us at [email protected].

Another Seeds of Kindness Update

The musicians over at My Little Remix are now putting their finishing touches to the soon-to-be-released Seeds of Kindness charity album, which is looking to be over two hours long! You can already find quite a few previews in the playlist above. For the big launch on April 29th, EverFree Radio will host at noon ET a livestream of the album, and dozens of musicians will be there. It will also premiere the Massive Smile Project, an amazing cover of Daniel Ingram’s Smile song, performed by 11 soloists and more than 160 choir singers! A round of applause to all the musicians who participated in the album, this would not be possible without them!

Last but not least, Telofy, second chair and founding member of the Your Siblings charity, will also be there to answer any questions you may have regarding the projects we are supporting: a clinic in Uganda and the Green Village in Burundi.

As with our last event, the most generous donors will be thanked with unique handcrafted gifts, art commissions, merch and Steam games very generously donated by various artists from the community! The exact list is still being finalized and will be made available shortly. We are still gladly accepting such donations for either this event or possibly for fundraising at the next BronyCon, so if you want to help, please contact us at [email protected].

For more information on Seeds of Kindness, hit up this page. Or alternatively read this short description:

What is Seeds of Kindness?

Seeds of Kindness is a fundraiser which will raise money for the non-profit organization Your Siblings. An album has been put together by the musicians from the My Little Remix community and will be made available to download to anyone that donates to Your Siblings. Every donor that donates a significant amount will have a chance to pick a prize from the prizes submitted by some generous folks, provided that they make the highest donor list.

The money will be forwarded in full to Your Siblings by Betterplace and then Your Siblings will use 100% of the money to support their top priority projects: A self sustainable Clinic in Uganda and a Green Village in Burundi. These projects are run by locals and will break free from foreign aid when the initial money is invested!

Seeds of Kindness Update

Hey everyone, have an update on Seeds of Kindness!

The music album is progressing very nicely at My Little Remix, and you can already find a preview of it at the bottom of this post! We extended the deadline to accommodate people studying for exams, so you can still submit a song until March 22nd! More info here.

We are also looking for custom pony merch, commission offers, and Steam gifts as prizes for the most generous donors. Thanks to such prizes, the CCA received five donations over $1,000 last time, so these gifts truly are doing a lot of good!

Thanks again to everyone contributing to this, and keep spreading the word!

A very awesome fundraiser under-way!

A Fundraiser is just about to kick off and we are really excited about it! It involves art, charity and ponies, what’s not to love? The post is so big and there are so many ways in which you can participate that I’am not going to try and explain them here. Instead have a link to it, read up on it, mark the dates on your calendar and get to work on some pony art!

Warning: It’s amazing, so read carefully…

Picture related, its my initial reaction to the fundraiser.

A reminder and a few more things

So the development of this site has almost come to a close and we will be adding a few things here and there as ideas take us.

During September we organized the blood drive: Nurse Redheart’s Roundup, we had quiete a few participants which made us extremely happy and which unquestionably helped many people who depend on the donations. However, this event is still very open and anyone who can, can participate. We would also appreciate it if you would let us know about your participation by adding your name on a spreadsheet. This event also counts towards earning your own BfG button! All the nessecary information can be found under Projects -> Present on this website.

We have also started to elect “charities of the month” you can find these on the very top of the page. Donating more than $20 dollars to any charity will also help you on your way to earning a button from us (the details are on the Projects -> Present page)

And last update is: we now have our own Steam group! You can find it here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/bronies_for_good

That’s all from me for now, until next time.
